Miten tuotetaan taidetta.
In very material sense.
Also considering the existence territory of an artist. His/her working habits, structures, wages. Especially interested in precarious work structure that artist are somewhat advanced in but that is becoming a reality for most of us.
I work also with mental ecology of freelance labor. With phenomenons such us loneliness, depression, panic, burn out, mania and paranoia and dysfunctional social relations.
I work through developing objects and acts. I use parody to make this gloomy subject approachable and
The project Parasitic is about artistic practice and production. Parasitic is series of objects, actions, sites and inhabitation of relationships between them. It is based on mutant or incomplete existences that are sometimes only compatible, at times even functional and sometimes dysfunctional community. It is a portrait of a mental state, productivity and existential territory of a freelance worker.
Parasite is a being and non-being at the same time, relation and non-relation. It is nothing on itself and it is untraceable to no one. It is traceable to No-one. There is a beast in here. A collective, we leave in. Just as the disintegration starts, the strong drive to preserve the shape intact follows. It is this panic to stay fit of the self that struggles. It is only that sense of the self that will collapse. Disintegration helps to inhabit the relationships.
The actor disintegrates in act. Inhabits partial relationships. A minor being able to inhabit the productive relation of the major beings. It is a being that lives and eats on the side of them.

Karolina Kucia is a visual and performance artist who often combines objects, actions and video image in site-specific and staged context. She has been working in the area of mental ecology and precarious labour in her own artistic practice as well as in organisations such as Mollecular Organisation collaborating with Akseli Virtanen, Heidi Fast and Tero Nauha, Future Art Base, Robin Hood Minor Asset Management and in collective organisational experiments with Bracha L. Ettinger, Franco Berardi, Brian Massumi, Erin Manning, Peter Pal Pelbart and Ueinzz Theater Company.
Her artistic practice often relates to question of collapse, withdrawal and minor expression as the “micro events”, such as slip of tongue. Regardless the gloomy appearance of the subjects the practices and works themselves are often joyful and somewhat parodic. Her works are performances and organizational experiments in the context of art production, collapse of meaning, sanity and power structures.
I like to create paradoxical or parasitical systems of subject-objects. As the performer’s is a subject-object who is performing the cultural production and it’s politics and conditions of precarious labour. I look for moments of disruption. I work with event of lapse, slip and stutter. I like to look through the technical decrease, loosing quality and good-looking face. I like to let those elements govern the process of becoming. I reanimate them back into the an a…a….ar….aar……t work.
